Andre commenced his carreer in Vidal Sasson, Toronto Canada in
1973 as a juniour trainee. By 1976 he achieved stylist status
and was part of the educational and training programs in salon.
Also as part of the artistic team performed in shows and photo
shoots. During this period achieved the government Colleges and
Universities diploma for Hairdressing, Ontario Canada. At the
end of 1978 transferred to the Vidal Sasson Hong Kong Salon as
a senior stylist and trainer for staff. After six months took
over as manager.
During this period he took over the premises and with partner
Norman McLeod started the Andre Norman Salon. Over the next fifteen
years opened three more salons. Responsibilities for this period
included salon promotions, photo shoots, management and training
of staff.
'With the arrival of 1994 a decision was
made by the co-owners to sell the premises of their venture and
basically retire before the handover of Hong Kong to China.
After retiring to Italy for a period of eight years Andre decided
to go to London to produce educational programmes with former
employee and associate Nergish Wadia-Austin by translating her
training modules onto video and DVD's under a newly set up company
Salon Standards Ltd.
